Week 13: Lubbock, TX & Dallas, TX

November 13-17, 2023

For week 13 of the #PowerBetter road show tour, I worked with the Dallas district to plan and execute their events in Lubbock and Dallas, Texas.

Key Takeaway: This week I realized the importance of how a team’s culture and how they work together. The Dallas sales district is full of fun, kind hard-workers that work together as a well-oiled machine. They have a lot of natural diversity on their team and were an absolute pleasure to work with. It really showed how much a team’s individuals and relationships within each other can impact the work environment and culture.

Favorite Food: I made sure to stop at Whataburger while in Texas which is always good, but my favorite food from the week was the dinner I had at Wabi House in Dallas with my friend Ellie. We got pork ramen, along with edamame and Japanese fried chicken. It very much hit the spot after a long day of work while the weather was beginning to cool down.

Highlights: Even with living in Houston for a year, I hadn’t really explored Dallas before. It was a cool city to walk around with lots to do. I visited the Sixth Floor Museum, located at the site where president JFK was assassinated in his memorial. The best part of the weekend was being able to meet with my Dad and his friends. We both happened to be in Dallas for work at the same time, so we all got dinner together as a group. It was really fun to reconnect with my Dad’s friends that I hadn’t seen in a while, and it was very special to see my Dad while traveling so close to the end of this tour.
