Tulare, CA

February 11-17, 2023

After San Diego, I drove up the incredible Pacific Coast Highway towards LA, then to Tulare, California for the World Agriculture Expo. This trade show is the biggest agriculture show in the world, proving to be one of the most unique experiences I’ve been a part of.

Key Takeaway: One of the guys we worked at the event with taught us the FUJI sales tactic. F stands for fear of loss, convincing customers that they don’t want to miss this opportunity. U stands for urgency, encouraging consumers to act and buy quickly. J stands for keeping up with the Jones’s, making consumers feel like they should buy something since everyone else (such as the Jones’s) is. Finally, I stands for indifference, where you as the seller should act indifferent towards your product in order to not overwhelm the customer.

Favorite Food: With this being an agriculture show, we had an abundant amount of incredible food thanks to the farmers who participated, who I much appreciate and respect. We had lots of tri-tip steak, my favorite meal being the tri-tip breakfast burrito.

Trip Highlight: Because my drive led me from San Diego up north, I was able to make a few fun stops along the way. I stopped at a few beaches to see the town and the view, made a Disneyland day trip, and got to watch the Super Bowl with one of my college friends who now lives in the area.
