Mebane, NC

April 3-7, 2023

At the start of April, I traveled with my boss to Mebane, North Carolina to oversee updates being made to the customer experience center in the manufacturing plant. While there, I was able to take a tour of the plant given by one of my fellow rotational program participants, check out the cute downtown area, and see my family who live not too far from the area.

Key Takeaway: From this visit, I learned about the importance of being in person together. It’s hard to get to know each other just through Teams calls, and when you’re able to work together and talk in person it causes people to come out of their shell so much more. This in turn makes working together as a team much easier and more enjoyable as coworkers turn into friends.

Favorite food: While there were some great local spots in Mebane, I have to say I was a little too excited to go back to my favorite chain that I can’t find in Texas. If you know me, you know this means we went to Moe’s. I was beyond excited when I realized our hotel was right next door, and got it twice that week.

Highlight: Downtown Mebane is such a cute area with a classic Main Street vibe to it. There are cute little boutiques, coffee shops, and is home to the iconic Clay Street Tavern. We had such a fun time there with the bar owners and catching up with each other.
