Alpharetta, GA

April 20, 2023

Near the end of April, we had two back-to-back events, one in Georgia and one in Virginia. The truck was first utilized in Alpharetta for a data center expert day hosted at the Top Golf. In between events I was able to explore Georgia, checking out the original chick-fil-a in Atlanta and visit one of my college roommates in Athens.

Key Takeaway: At this event, I learned the importance of reviewing and approving every minor detail before things are finalized. We had one minor error on a giveaway we wanted to provide people with, and were unable to use the products for the event. It didn’t ruin anything by any means and was a very minor issue, but obviously we wished we could have used the items we paid for.

Favorite food: After flying into Atlanta, I was so excited to check out the original Chick-fil-a restaurant, which unfortunately was just announced to be closing down. Truett Cathy opened the Dwarf Grille in 1964, where he invented the boneless chicken sandwich. The restaurant was named for its modest size, but then grew into the franchise we all know and love. The restaurant is part diner, part typical Chick-fil-a, part ice cream shop, part museum and is a cool thing to check out if you’re in the area. I of course got the original chicken sandwich, waffle fries, and even a sweet potato soufflé as my meal and of course, it was great.

Highlight: After leaving Alpharetta, I got to visit one of my college roommates in Athens, as she is currently a graduate student at the University of Georgia. We went to a UGA baseball game, visited a local brewery, and even ran a 5K. It was so much fun catching up and exploring her adorable new city!
